JCB machines should not be used in MNREGA schemes: DDC

 

Jharkhand/Hazaribagh: A meeting chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Ishtiaq Ahmed was held in the Collectorate's meeting hall on Wednesday to review the progress of various schemes under the Rural Development Department. The meeting reviewed the progress of schemes under the MNREGA scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the Ambedkar Housing Scheme, the Abua Housing Scheme, the Birsa Well Enhancement Scheme, the Dobha Construction, the Anganwadi Scheme, the Birsa Green Village Scheme, and the JSLPS.

During the meeting, the Deputy Development Commissioner directed all Block Development Officers to visit the field at least two days a week and physically verify the schemes. He directed them to ensure that JCB machines are not used in MNREGA schemes and to take legal action if they are found. He directed officials to place special emphasis on the progress of schemes in Padma block and to have BPOs and employment officers visit the area to monitor the work. Emphasis was placed on identifying backward Panchayats and accelerating their progress in Panchayat Samiti work.

In the meeting, instructions were given to prioritize important programs like JSLPS, Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, Swachh Bharat Mission, Didibari Yojana, Birsa Kup Irrigation Scheme. All officials were also asked to actively participate in works related to making villages ODF Plus, PD generation, and vermicompost.

The meeting was attended by trainee IAS officers, DRDA Director, DPRO, all BDOs, BPOs, BPMs, coordinators of various schemes, and other staff.
