New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will pay a two-day official visit to Australia on October 09-10 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles. Three agreements are planned to be signed during this visit, which will further enhance cooperation in the areas of information sharing, maritime and joint activities. During the visit, the Defense Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Australian counterpart.
According to the Defense Ministry, the trip is taking place on such a historic occasion as India and Australia are celebrating the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). It will also be the first visit to Australia by a defense minister of this government since During the visit, the Defense Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Australian counterpart. He will chair a professional roundtable in Sydney, attended by leading industry figures from both sides.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also meet other Australian national leaders. The trip will provide both sides with an important opportunity to explore new and meaningful initiatives to further strengthen bilateral relations and defense partnerships. Three agreements are planned to be signed during the trip, which will further enhance cooperation in the areas of information sharing, maritime areas and joint activities. Defense relations have expanded over time and include extensive talks between the two armies, military exchanges, high-level visits, capacity-building and training programmes, cooperation in the maritime area, joint exercise visits.
