Jharkhand/East Singhbhum:To ensure safe, peaceful and well-organized organization of Durga Puja, a district level peace committee meeting was held on Monday at Town Hall, Sidgora under the chairmanship of District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Karna Satyarthi and SSP Piyush Pandey.
Important issues related to law and order, traffic control, crowd management and security were discussed in the meeting. Rural SP Rishabh Garg, ADM Law and Order Bhagirath Prasad, SOR Rahul Anand, District Supply Officer Zulfikar Ansari, NDC David Balihar, Additional Municipal Commissioner JNAC Krishna Kumar, DTO Dhananjay, Sub-Divisional Officer Dhalbhum Chandrajit Singh, District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon along with all BDOs, COs, DSPs and police station in-charges were present in the meeting.
In the meeting, the members of the Central Peace Committee put forth their views on the requirements related to the Puja committees, which included cleanliness, drinking water arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, appointment of women constables, traffic arrangements, road repairs, drop gates and necessary arrangements at the immersion ghat. The district administration assured that all the arrangements will be rectified on time as per the feedback received from the peace committee meetings held station-wise.
Deputy Commissioner Karna Satyarthi said that the administration is constantly reviewing the situation so that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience. He directed to follow the fixed immersion route, keep the generator and miking system in the pandals in working condition, mark the parking space and ensure CCTV recording.
SSP Piyush Pandey said that the safety of women is a priority and appointment of women volunteers in the pandals should be mandatory. He also directed to be cautious of fake news spreading on social media and get the veracity of any suspicious information checked by the police station or administrative officials.
In the meeting, all Puja committees were directed to not allow more people than the pandal capacity, separate entry and exit routes, ensure CCTV monitoring, provide the list of volunteers to the police station and ensure first aid arrangements. The district administration appealed to everyone to cooperate in celebrating the festival safely and peacefully.
