According to the police, the incident took place on the night of 16 August. It is said that both the accused killed Manoj over money transactions. After this, at midnight on 17 August, they packed the body in a sack and took it to Bhuri forest about seven kilometers away and set it on fire to destroy the evidence.
According to the information, Manoj's mother had died a long time ago. His father got married again, due to which he and his sister became helpless. From the age of five, Manoj used to graze cows and goats at Rajeshwar Singh's house, while his sister grew up with her uncle and aunt. He had given about 80 thousand rupees earned from labor to Rajeshwar Singh during the construction of the house. Recently, on Rakshabandhan, he had told his sister that Rajeshwar Singh has the money, I will get you married soon.
On August 17, when the sister heard the discussion of brother's death in the village, she asked Rajeshwar Singh, he expressed ignorance. But on receiving the information, police station in-charge Uttam Kumar Rai reached the spot with the force and recovered the burnt remains of the deceased from the forest. The matter was revealed when on August 20, the deceased's uncle Lalan Bhuiyan lodged a complaint in the police station. The police took immediate action and started investigating the matter. In the investigation, both the accused confessed their crime. Raids were conducted and both the accused were caught. A case has been registered against them under case number 111/2025.
There is great anger in the Bhuiyan community over this heinous murder. Block president Amarik Bhuiyan has demanded the harshest punishment for the culprits.
