General Ved Prakash Malik (Retd.) attended the Golden Jubilee Lecture Series of Coal India

 

Ranchi. An inspirational session was organized in the Sangam Auditorium of Gangotri Convention Center of CCL Headquarters, Ranchi under the Golden Jubilee Lecture Series organized to commemorate the glorious 50-year journey of Coal India and Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). On this occasion, former Chief of Army Staff of the Indian Army and Kargil War hero, General Ved Prakash Malik (PVSM, AVSM) was present as the keynote speaker.

      The program started with a grand beginning with CCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Nilendu Kumar Singh felicitating General Malik by presenting him a shawl and a bouquet.

     In his inspirational address, General V.P. Malik extended his heartfelt best wishes to Coal India and CCL for their golden journey. He said, “Organizations like Coal India and CCL have the same characteristics as the Indian Army – leadership, discipline, dedication and service. These are the most trusted and reliable organizations of the country because we do not like to lose.” Sharing memories of Operation Vijay, he elaborated on the indomitable courage, valor and spirit of the Army. Sharing the military journey from Operation Vijay to Operation Sindoor, he said that “Naam, Namak and Nishan” should be the guiding values ​​not only for the Army but for every organization. He described public sector undertakings like CIL and CCL as the backbone of the country’s energy system and also appreciated their social and community contribution.

     CCL CMD Shri Nilendu Kumar Singh said in his address, “It is a matter of great pride for us that a great warrior of the country, who made an incomparable contribution in the defense of the nation, is present on our stage today. CCL has always been committed to national service, social upliftment and sustainable development. Coal India and CCL are constantly striving for the development and progress of the country.”

       It is noteworthy that the objective of this lecture series is not only to celebrate the golden journey of Coal India Limited, but also to inspire young employees for patriotism and dedication by sharing values ​​like leadership, discipline and service.

       To make this inspirational session of General Malik reach Coal India and the general public, it was broadcast live (live webcast), which hundreds of people enthusiastically joined.

      On this occasion, CCL Director (Human Resources) Harshnath Mishra, Director (Technical Operations) C.S. Tiwari, Director (Project/Planning) Shankar Nagachari, Executive Director (ED - CSR) OP Mishra, Executive Director (ED - IICM) Kamakshi Raman, representatives of labor unions, heads of various departments, officers and a large number of employees were present. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Rekha Pandey, General Manager (Welfare).
