Voter Literacy Campaign at Marwari College, Youth Given Registration Information

Ranchi, August 8: A voter literacy and awareness campaign was organized on the college campus under the joint aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Marwari College, Ranchi, and the District Election Office. The program specifically focused on youth and new voters, providing information on voter registration, voter list corrections, and the electoral process.

During the campaign, students were explained the process of registering as new voters through the ECI portal and ECI Net App. Eligible youth aged 18 years and above can enroll themselves in the voter list by filling out Form 6. Form 8 can also be used to correct information on the voter list.

Students were also informed about online and offline election-related services, including changing polling stations and deleting names. The New Voter Selfie Campaign encouraged youth to become voters and cast their votes.

The college volunteers who enthusiastically participated in the #NewVoters campaign held on August 5 were commended at the event.

College Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar stated that youth are a vital force in democracy. He urged eligible students to register as voters and to educate their friends, family, and surrounding youth about voting.

The program was addressed by Jai Prakash Rajak, Nodal Officer for Election Awareness, Dr. Seema Chaudhary, NSS Program Officer, Anubhav Chakraborty, and District Election Office personnel.

Shalini, Anisha, Pratham, Manu, Ganesh, and other NSS volunteers played a key role in making the campaign a success. The program conveyed to youth that an aware voter is the foundation of a strong democracy, and that their first vote is their first significant contribution to democracy.
