Reacting sharply to the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Jharkhand's Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Deepika Pandey Singh, described it as a victory for the struggle waged by students and youth across the country. She stated that this is merely the beginning and the fight to safeguard democracy will continue.
Deepika Pandey Singh remarked that the central government had long attempted to conceal the truth regarding the paper leak scandal. While lakhs of students were anxious about their futures and many young people were grappling with mental stress, the government remained intent on denying the issue. However, the united voice of the youth forced the government to yield.
She noted that history bears witness to the fact that mass movements can never be suppressed through coercion. The youth participating in this movement have waged a courageous battle to protect democracy and their own futures.
The Minister also commended the role of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and other parties within the INDIA alliance, stating that the opposition played a pivotal role in strengthening and guiding this movement.
Deepika Pandey Singh said, "This victory is not merely about a minister's resignation; it is a triumph for the voice of the nation's youth. The fight is not over yet. The democratic struggle against an authoritarian mindset will continue, and ultimately, democracy will prevail."
