Narakaas meeting in CMPDI, emphasis on making official language Hindi a part of work culture


Ranchi, July 2: A meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Undertakings), Ranchi, was held on Thursday at the CMPDI headquarters. The meeting was chaired by Nripendra Nath, Director (Technical/CRD), CMPDI. Representatives from various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) in Ranchi participated, including Vichitrasen Gupta, Deputy Director of the Department of Official Language (Ministry of Home Affairs), and Sanjay Kadambar, Member Secretary of TOLIC.


Addressing the meeting, Nripendra Nath stated that the use of the official language, Hindi, should not be limited to mere government formalities but should become an integral part of the office work culture. He emphasized the need to focus on technical resources, bilingual software, and regular employee training to maximize the use of Hindi.


He congratulated the winners of the Official Language competition organized by MECON, as well as CCL, the Airports Authority of India, and MECON Limited for their outstanding performance in the TOLIC Annual Award Scheme 2025-26, noting that the efforts of these institutions serve as an inspiration for other offices.


The quarterly progress report on the official language was reviewed during the meeting. Appreciation was expressed for initiatives such as the increased use of Hindi across member offices, as well as the organization of workshops, training programs, competitions, and the publication of official language magazines. Additionally, all member offices were urged to ensure that the Heads of Offices personally attend future meetings to review the progress of official language implementation.


It is noteworthy that CMPDI has held the responsibility of chairing the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Undertakings), Ranchi, since 2018. Currently, the committee comprises 37 PSU members.
