Major US Crackdown on Indian Criminal Networks, Including Lawrence Bishnoi Gang; 24 Suspects Arrested
US investigative agencies have launched a major operation against international organized crime networks, arresting 24 suspects across the US, Canada, and Europe. They are accused of having ties to three India-linked criminal gangs, including the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
According to federal prosecutors in Los Angeles, this action follows a multi-year investigation. The gangs are accused of involvement in serious crimes such as targeted killings, extortion, and drug trafficking.
Investigative agencies have named a total of 37 individuals as accused across three indictments. Officials stated that the charges include a case linked to the conspiracy to assassinate Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, in 2023.
US prosecutors affirmed that the crackdown on international criminal networks will continue and that those evading the law will not be spared. The agencies made it clear that measures will be taken at every level to dismantle organized crime.
