Major Dengue-Malaria Campaign in Ranchi: 445 Homes Inspected; Larvae Found in 29 Homes and 61 Containers
Joint operation by the Health Department and Municipal Corporation • Door-to-door surveys in Wards 21, 22, and 23 • Civil Surgeon urges citizens to remain vigilant
Ranchi: To prevent mosquito-borne diseases like dengue and malaria, the Health Department and the Ranchi Municipal Corporation are jointly conducting a comprehensive awareness and source reduction campaign. As part of this initiative, larva surveys, public awareness programs, and larvicidal activities are being continuously carried out in Wards 21, 22, and 23.
A joint team is visiting homes to educate residents on preventive measures against dengue. Citizens are being urged not to allow water to stagnate in or around their homes, to regularly clean water containers, and to maintain hygiene.
445 Homes Inspected; Dengue Larvae Found in 29
During the campaign, 445 homes were inspected, and dengue larvae were detected in 29 of them. Additionally, 2,760 water containers were checked, with larvae found in 61 of them. Immediate action was taken to destroy the larvae at all affected sites, and residents were provided with necessary health-related advice.
Awareness Campaign Also Underway in Schools
Special awareness programs are being organized in schools to prevent malaria. Through the "Har Ravivar, Machhar Par Vaar" (Every Sunday, Strike at Mosquitoes) campaign, people are being educated on how to protect themselves from mosquito-borne diseases.
Appeal by the Civil Surgeon
Ranchi Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar has appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness in and around their homes. If anyone experiences fever, headache, body ache, or other suspicious symptoms, they should immediately get tested at the nearest health center.
He stated that public participation and vigilance are the most effective means of controlling diseases like dengue and malaria.
