Intensive Special Revision of Electoral Rolls Gains Momentum in Jharkhand; BLOs Reach 1.75 Crore Voters: K. Ravi Kumar
Previous SIR Electoral Roll Treated as Valid Document; No Additional Documentation Required for Verified Entries
Ranchi: The process of Intensive Special Revision (SIR) is progressing rapidly in Jharkhand. Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar stated that the verification process for enumeration forms is underway across the state. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and Booth Level Agents (BLAs)—appointed by political parties—are playing an active role at the grassroots level.
He informed that within the first 10 days, BLOs have reached approximately 66.25 percent of the state's electorate—covering 1,75,31,915 voters—and have distributed enumeration forms to eligible Indian citizens during door-to-door visits.
The Chief Electoral Officer noted that 82.11 percent of the entries (2,17,27,827 voters) from the previous SIR electoral roll have been fully verified, while 17.89 percent (47,35,409 voters) remain to be verified.
The draft electoral roll has been shared with all recognized political parties and has also been made available to the general public on the Chief Electoral Officer's official website.
K. Ravi Kumar stated that the electoral roll from the previous SIR is considered a valid document. Voters whose details match the previous SIR records do not need to submit any additional documentation.
He appealed to citizens to provide accurate information on the enumeration forms to the visiting BLOs as soon as possible, so that the electoral roll revision process can be completed expeditiously.
