High-level meeting regarding Jagannathpur Rath Yatra fair security; CCTV surveillance and additional police force deployment planned
Ranchi: A crucial meeting was held on June 5, 2026, chaired by the Additional Director General of Police (ADG), South Chotanagpur Range, Ranchi, and attended by temple committee members and police officials, to discuss law and order and security arrangements for the upcoming Jagannathpur fair and Rath Yatra.
Directives were issued during the meeting to ensure the deployment of adequate police personnel and to exercise special vigilance in sensitive and high-crowd areas. Instructions were also given to physically verify the Rath Yatra and procession routes and to maintain strict monitoring on social media and other digital platforms.
The ADG issued necessary guidelines regarding CCTV surveillance during the Rath Yatra, the establishment of a control room, parking arrangements, traffic diversions, fire safety, and exit routes for emergency situations.
Additionally, emphasis was placed on making special arrangements prioritizing the safety of women and children. An appeal was also made to the general public to celebrate the festival in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police (Rural), Superintendent of Police (City), and Superintendent of Police (Traffic), along with all Deputy Superintendents of Police and Station House Officers (SHOs).
