🧠 High-Tech Neurophysiology Lab Launched at Ranchi District Hospital; Neurological Diagnostics Now Affordable and Accessible
Ranchi, May 2026: Taking a significant step toward strengthening healthcare services, a state-of-the-art Neurophysiology Lab has been inaugurated at the District Hospital, Ranchi. The lab was inaugurated by Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar, while Deputy Superintendent Dr. Bimlesh Singh was also present on the occasion.
This lab is the first facility of its kind among the state's district hospitals, meaning patients will no longer need to travel to major cities or expensive private institutions for neurological examinations. Expert guidance for the lab's operations will be provided by Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma (DM Neurology, AIIMS) and Dr. Ahmed Hussain (DrNB Neurology).
This modern lab will offer critical diagnostic facilities such as NCS, EEG, EMG, VEP, and RNST—services that were previously unavailable in any district hospital. This will provide immense relief, particularly to patients from economically weaker sections of society.
The lab will aid in the accurate diagnosis of epilepsy and diseases related to nerves and muscles. Furthermore, it will play a pivotal role in the timely identification and treatment of children with hearing impairments. This facility will also prove invaluable for trauma patients, enabling the precise assessment of internal injuries and nerve damage.
