Minister Congratulated on Building Regularization Scheme Bill; Pledge for Widespread Publicity


Ranchi, April 22, 2026 — A delegation led by Aditya Malhotra, President of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries, paid a courtesy visit to Sudivya Kumar, the Minister of Urban Development and Housing. During the meeting, the delegation congratulated the Minister on the introduction of the Building Regularization Scheme Bill in the state and expressed their gratitude on behalf of the residents.


The delegation stated that this scheme would prove to be a source of relief for lakhs of building owners across the state. Additionally, several key suggestions were offered to enhance the effectiveness of the scheme. These included demands to expand the scope of the scheme to cover buildings up to 15 meters in height and 500 square meters in area, to extend the duration of the scheme, and to simplify the procedural formalities. Furthermore, a request was made to include previously constructed warehouses (temporary sheds) within the ambit of the scheme through a simplified process.


Chamber President Aditya Malhotra remarked that this initiative marks a significant step towards the urban development of the state. He expressed confidence that the Chamber would undertake extensive publicity and awareness campaigns across the state to ensure that the maximum number of people become aware of the scheme and are able to avail its benefits.


Minister Sudivya Kumar stated that the government's objective is to provide relief to common citizens and to foster systematic urban development. He gave assurances that the government remains fully committed to the effective implementation and widespread dissemination of information regarding the scheme.


Various other issues related to urban development and trade interests were also discussed during the meeting. The delegation included Praveen Lohia, Ram Bangar, Rohit Agarwal, Anil Agarwal, Vikas Modi, Anchal Kinger, Kishore Mantri, and Atul Agarwal, President of the Architects Association.
