BJP Launches Sharp Attack on 'Abua Awas': "A Scheme Worth 20 Lakhs, Failed at 20 Thousand"
During a press conference in Ranchi, BJP State Spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo accused the Hemant government of a massive scam involving the 'Abua Awas Yojana' (Abua Housing Scheme). He stated that against a target of 2 million (20 lakh) houses, only 19,650 homes have been constructed so far, despite the expenditure of thousands of crores of rupees.
Taking a jibe at the administration, he remarked that the government would now need to construct 2,700 houses daily in order to meet its target. Furthermore, drawing a comparison with the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana' (Prime Minister's Housing Scheme), he asserted that the Central government's initiative is empowering women, whereas the poor in Jharkhand have been betrayed.
Demanding a high-level inquiry into the matter, the BJP has put the government in the dock.
