Auto Drivers to Stage Sit-in on April 8; Warn of Intense Agitation if Demands Go Unheard
Ranchi, April 2, 2026: A joint meeting of the Jharkhand State CNG Auto Drivers' Federation and the Ranchi District Auto Drivers' Union was held at their office located at Duke Mansion, Land Tank Road. The meeting was presided over by State President Dinesh Soni and conducted by State Secretary Akash Bharti. During the meeting, it was decided that a two-hour sit-in protest would be staged on April 8 in front of the Naga Baba Khatal Lok Bhawan to press for a four-point charter of demands. Following the protest, a memorandum of demands will be submitted to the Transport Commissioner, the Municipal Corporation, and the Traffic SP. A warning has been issued that if a resolution is not reached within three days, the unions will resort to intense agitation, strikes, and hunger strikes.
