Security Tightened in Ranchi Ahead of Ram Navami; DGP Issues Directives
Ranchi, March 25, 2026 — A high-level meeting was held at the Police Headquarters on Wednesday to review law and order and security arrangements in the state capital, Ranchi, in view of the upcoming Ram Navami festival. The meeting was presided over by the Director General-cum-Inspector General of Police, Jharkhand. He directed all subordinate officers to ensure the deployment of adequate police forces during the festival period. Furthermore, he instructed them to identify sensitive and crowded areas and exercise special vigilance, physically verify the routes of processions and religious marches, and maintain strict surveillance over social media and digital platforms. The meeting was attended by the ADG, SSP Ranchi, SPs for Rural and Urban areas, the Traffic SP, as well as all DSPs and Station House Officers (SHOs).
