Politics Heats Up Over 'Sheesh Mahal': BJP Targets Hemant Government
In Ranchi, BJP State President and MP Aditya Sahu launched a scathing attack on the Hemant government regarding the construction of the Chief Minister's residence. He asserted that this "Sheesh Mahal"—estimated to cost over ₹100 crore—represents a wasteful expenditure of the poor's money. According to Sahu, the Building Construction Department has issued a tender worth ₹67 crore—a figure that excludes interior work and furnishings—meaning the total cost could eventually exceed ₹100 crore. He alleged that crores of rupees would be squandered on expensive fountains, imported tiles, Jacuzzis, and other luxuries within the building. Terming the project "anti-people," the BJP warned of protests, arguing that schemes meant for the needy are being neglected.
