New Momentum for Trade Relations Between Jharkhand and China; Consensus Reached on Boosting Investment and Industrial Cooperation
During a high-level meeting held in Ranchi between the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries and China's Consul General in Kolkata, Shu Wei, strong emphasis was placed on giving a new direction to bilateral trade and investment. During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail the potential for enhancing cooperation, highlighting Jharkhand's abundant mineral wealth, robust industrial base, and strategic geographical location as highly favorable factors for investment.
During the discussions, priority was accorded to sectors such as value addition in mining, electric mobility, food processing, agriculture, engineering, and renewable energy. The Chamber proposed sending business delegations to China and increasing participation in international trade fairs to help Jharkhand's industries gain a new global identity.
Consul General Shu Wei expressed keen interest in strengthening trade ties with Jharkhand and assured the Chamber of every possible support. He stated that both sides could collaborate to undertake concrete initiatives in the fields of industry and investment.
Chamber President Aditya Malhotra remarked that Jharkhand is rapidly emerging as a key hub for investment, and such international meetings will play a pivotal role in establishing the state on the global stage. General Secretary Rohit Agarwal noted that the Chamber is making continuous and active efforts to attract new investments and business opportunities to the state.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to maintain mutual engagement and to advance joint initiatives in the future. Several office bearers and members of the Chamber were also present on this occasion.
