566 kg of Doda and Opium Seized in Namkum; Member of Smuggling Gang Arrested
Ranchi: In a major operation conducted in Budri village, under the jurisdiction of the Namkum Police Station, the police have busted an illegal opium and *doda* smuggling ring. During the raid, 566.5 kg of *doda*, 700 grams of opium, ₹2.28 lakh in cash, and a Bolero vehicle were recovered. Manish Tirkey (26) has been arrested in connection with this case. According to the police, the accused used to supply narcotics across Ranchi—as well as in Khunti and Hazaribagh—through an organized syndicate. The gang utilized both cash and digital modes for its financial transactions. The estimated market value of the seized narcotics is approximately ₹88 lakh. An FIR has been registered under the NDPS Act in connection with this case, and raids are currently underway to apprehend the other accused individuals.
