Review of Republic Day 2026 Preparations in Lohardaga; Administration Finalizes Event Blueprint

Lohardaga| January 7, 2026:
With Republic Day (January 26, 2026) approaching, the Lohardaga district administration has begun finalizing preparations. A review meeting was held in the Collectorate conference hall under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, attended by officers from all concerned departments.

It was decided that wreath-laying at the statues of martyrs and great leaders at the district headquarters will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. on January 26. The main ceremony will feature flag hoisting by the Chief Guest at 9:15 a.m., followed by the National Anthem sung by students of .

At the Collectorate, flag hoisting will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. by the Deputy Commissioner. Thereafter, flag hoisting will take place at the Superintendent of Police Office, DRDA Old Office premises, Zila Parishad, Sub-Divisional Officer’s Office, and other government institutions. At Kendriya Vidyalaya, Barhi, the flag will be hoisted by the Deputy Development Commissioner, while heads of other offices will hoist the flag at their respective premises as per convenience.

Parade, Security, and Traffic Arrangements

The main ceremony will include parade contingents from the District Police Force (men and women), Auxiliary Police, Home Guards, NCC units from various schools, and Bharat Scouts & Guides. Parade rehearsals will be conducted at the Police Lines in Baksidipa.
Cleanliness and decoration of the main venue and key locations will be handled by the Lohardaga Municipal Council. Ambulance services and medical personnel will be deployed by the Civil Surgeon.
Movement of heavy vehicles will remain restricted from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on January 26.

Tableaux, Cultural Programmes, and Awards

Tableaux from departments including Social Welfare, Health, Drinking Water & Sanitation, Agriculture, Transport, Education, along with Scouts & Guides and other organizations, will be showcased. All departments have been instructed to ensure timely and high-quality presentations.
District athletes who delivered outstanding performances in 2025 will be honored, following a screening process.

Cultural Evening on January 26

A cultural evening will be organized on January 26, 2026, at the New Town Hall, Lohardaga, in the evening. The Municipal Council has been tasked with arranging quality lighting and sound systems and ensuring cleanliness of halls and restrooms.

The meeting was attended by the Superintendent of Police, Deputy Development Commissioner, ITDA Project Director, Additional Collector, other district-level officers, police officials, and principals/teachers from the concerned schools.
