Legislative Ethics Committee Holds Review Meeting, Emphasises Inter-Departmental Coordination

A review meeting of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly’s Ethics Committee was held at the Circuit House in Lohardaga on Monday. The meeting was chaired by the Committee Chairman and MLA from Manika Assembly constituency, Ramchandra Singh.

During the meeting, a department-wise review of various works and schemes being implemented in the district was conducted. Detailed discussions were held on the ground status of departmental activities, appointments made on compassionate grounds, compassionate appointments and ex-gratia grant payments to dependents of persons killed in extremist violence, and the progress of implementation of various government schemes.

District officials presented updated reports of their respective departments before the Committee. Chairman Ramchandra Singh directed officials to give special attention to departments where a large number of cases are pending and ensure their early disposal.

He emphasised that matters related to public interest should be resolved in a prompt, transparent and time-bound manner, and that the benefits of government schemes must reach eligible beneficiaries without delay. He also instructed all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that there is no negligence at any level.

The Chairman further stressed the importance of maintaining high ethical standards, integrity and accountability while discharging official duties.

The meeting was attended by Committee member and Sindri MLA Chandradev Mahato, Additional Collector of Lohardaga Jitendra Munda, ITDA Project Director Sushma Neelam Soreng, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Kumar, along with other concerned district-level officials.
