The organized a legal awareness programme at Premashray, Ranchi, aimed at preventing child marriage. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority and under the leadership of Judicial Commissioner, Ranchi, Anil Kumar Mishra–I.
The awareness programme was held as part of the AASHA Campaign run by the , under a special 100-day action plan against child marriage. PLVs Sahista Praveen, Sangeeta Devi, Sangeeta Singh, Pinku Kumari, and others were present on the occasion.
PLV Pinku Kumari explained that courts are empowered to issue injunctions to prevent impending child marriages, ensure the safety of the child, and, if required, order placement in a protective home. PLV Sangeeta Singh emphasized that informing the District Legal Services Authority, Childline–1098, or the nearest police station upon receiving information about child marriage is both a legal and moral duty of every citizen. She also shared information about the toll-free number 15100.
At the end of the programme, pamphlets and leaflets were distributed, and participants were informed about the National Lok Adalat scheduled to be held on 14 March. The information was shared by DLSA Secretary Rakesh Roushan.
