In a significant step towards strengthening law and order and effective crime control, Ranchi Police has commenced operations of the NLU Outpost located at Kanke. The outpost was inaugurated online on November 15, 2025, on the occasion of the 25th State Foundation Day, and has now started regular functioning.
The newly constructed outpost was formally made operational by the Additional Director General of Police (South Chotanagpur Range), Ranchi, Manoj Kaushik, in the presence of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi, Rakesh Ranjan. Officials stated that this initiative will significantly enhance crime control, maintenance of law and order, and ensure greater safety for the general public as well as students.
With the establishment of the NLU Outpost, public access to police services will become easier and more efficient. The outpost is also expected to play a crucial role in smooth traffic management, city sealing operations in Ranchi, monitoring the movement of criminals, and preventing road accidents on the Ring Road and adjoining areas. In case of accidents, quicker police response will also be ensured.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ranchi, has deployed an adequate number of police officers and personnel at the outpost. The Additional Director General of Police has directed officials to ensure effective patrolling in the area, strict crime control measures, prompt resolution of issues faced by students of and local residents, and to promote people-centric policing.
