🚨Police-Trader Coordination Committee Meeting Held: Strict Action Against Encroachment, Drug Abuse, and Loitering in Lalpur Area

Ranchi: A crucial meeting of the Police-Trader Coordination Committee was organized at the Lalpur Police Station premises, initiated by the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI). A large number of traders from the Lalpur police station area participated, engaging in an open discussion on law and order, security, traffic management, and business-related problems in the region.

🏙️ Traders Highlighted Serious Issues

The traders present apprised Lalpur Police Station In-charge Rupesh Singh of the major issues facing the area. The key problems raised included:

 * Encroachment: Heavy encroachment in front of shops, causing significant difficulty for customer movement.

 * Traffic Jams: Persistent traffic congestion in the Circular Road and Lalpur Chowk areas.

 * Illegal Activities: Illegal occupation of Mall Decor's parking lot by pushcarts, loitering, and the gathering of drug users in several alleys and complex basements.

 * Security: Continuous nuisance created by anti-social elements near the Working Women's Hostel (Nagratoli), causing trouble, especially for women.

 * Other Issues: Irregularities in parking fee collection in front of Pantaloons, and stunts performed by underage children on two-wheelers.

💡 Suggestion for Special Drive Against Drug Abuse

Mukesh Agarwal, Chairman of the Law and Order Sub-Committee, expressed concern over the persistent complaints of drug abuse, citing the high number of hostels, coaching centers, and educational institutions in the Lalpur area. He suggested that the police conduct special and regular campaigns to protect children and youth from drug addiction.

Navjot Alang, Joint Secretary of the Chamber, suggested running a drive through Guard-Police Coordination, which would enable timely reporting of suspicious activities to the police, ensuring effective crime control.

🤝 Police Station In-charge Announces Monthly Meeting

Police Station In-charge Rupesh Singh praised the Chamber's effort, emphasizing that better dialogue and cooperation between the police and traders are essential. He assured the attendees that:

 * Monthly Meeting: The committee meeting will be held every month at the police station premises.

 * Strict Action: Strict action will be taken to stop loitering and drug abuse in the area.

 * Bars Regulation: Bars found open after the prescribed time will face action as per the rules.

 * Public Smoking: Fines will be imposed on those found smoking in public places (₹18,000 fine was collected in the Morabadi area last night). Strict action will also be taken against the sale of loose cigarettes.

 * Appeal: Residents were appealed to report any problem immediately by dialing 112.

👥 Promoting People-Friendly Policing

Chamber General Secretary Rohit Agarwal stated that the Chamber's effort is to promote People-Friendly Policing. He expressed confidence that strengthening trust and dialogue between the police and traders will not only help in crime control but also create a safe and positive business environment.

The Jharkhand Chamber is committed to further empowering police-trader relations across the state through such coordination meetings.
