Ranchi, December 23, 2025: In a significant move aimed at reducing the burden of pending cases on the judicial system and providing speedy justice to common citizens, the Monthly Lok Adalat organized by the District Legal Services Authority (DALSA), Ranchi, achieved resounding success today. During this special session held at the Civil Court, a total of 3,137 disputes (pending and pre-litigation) were disposed of through mutual consent in a single day.
The total settlement amount disbursed to the parties as part of these resolutions was recorded at ₹1,17,93,782/- (Rupees Eleven Crores, Seventy-Nine Lakhs, Three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Eighty-Two). This substantial figure underscores the effectiveness of the Lok Adalat and the growing trust among people in resolving disputes through this channel.
DALSA Secretary’s Initiative Proves Successful
Commenting on the achievement, DALSA Secretary Rakesh Raushan credited the success to advance preparations. He stated that the framework for maximizing the disposal of pending cases was prepared by sending notices to the litigants well in advance, which led to a large number of parties attending the forum to settle their disputes.
Raushan further added, "Lok Adalats do not just provide legal solutions; they ensure that disputes are resolved with minimal cost and time. This is a powerful medium for streamlining the judicial process."
