Türkiye denies reports claiming its involvement in Red Fort blast
In a statement issued late Wednesday, Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications said that some Indian media outlets were claiming that Türkiye was linked to terrorist activities in India and was providing military, diplomatic and financial assistance to terrorist groups. The statement described these claims as part of a malicious disinformation campaign aimed at harming bilateral relations between the two countries.
The statement said that Türkiye firmly condemns all terrorist acts, regardless of where or by whom they are carried out. It added that Türkiye stands as a leading country in the global fight against terrorism through cooperation with the international community. Türkiye actively contributes to the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and plays an influential role in shaping NATO’s counter-terrorism policies.
According to Türkiye, the claim that it is involved in “radical activities” targeting India or any other country is completely misleading and has no factual basis. The government said that such unfounded and misleading reports attempt to undermine Türkiye’s contribution to international peace, security and stability, and advised the public not to believe such disinformation.
Meanwhile, investigations into the explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi have revealed that the accused had travelled to Türkiye. Agencies are examining whether they met operatives of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed while in Türkiye and whether the conspiracy was planned there. The death toll from the incident has risen to 13.
