Sona Jharkhand Will Become a Developed Jharkhand: Shilpi Neha Tirkey

Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister addresses district-level programme on State Foundation Day


Lohardaga:
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the formation of Jharkhand, a district-level programme-cum-development fair was organised today at the Collectorate Ground, Lohardaga. The event was inaugurated by Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Minister for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that Jharkhand has always been "Sona Jharkhand" and together, the government and people will transform it into a fully developed state. She recalled the sacrifices and contributions of the pioneers of the Jharkhand movement, including Jaipal Singh Munda, Shibu Soren, Vinod Bihari Mahato and many others. She said that students, youth, farmers and movement activists will play a key role in building a prosperous state.


Remarkable initiatives for women, students and farmers

The Minister said that the present state government has introduced several transformative schemes for women, girls, students and farmers. The Manki Munda Maiya Samman Yojana has strengthened women economically, enabling them to utilise funds for self-employment. Girl students are being supported under the Kishori Samridhi Savitribai Phule Yojana, which provides benefits up to Rs 40,000.

Students from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups have been benefitted under the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme, allowing them to pursue higher education in countries like the United States, England and Australia. Under the Chief Minister Kisan Loan Waiver Scheme, loans up to Rs 2 lakh were waived till 2024.

Farmers are receiving support through agricultural equipment such as tractors and pump sets. Farmers who could not claim compensation for crop loss earlier will now be supported through disaster relief. To improve education quality, Chief Minister Excellent Schools have been established where students are receiving CBSE-pattern education and learning English.


Inauguration of schemes worth Rs 88.52 crore

The Minister inaugurated development schemes worth Rs 88.52 crore, laid the foundation stone for schemes worth Rs 29.21 crore and distributed assets worth Rs 4.92 crore. Two Jharkhand movement activists were symbolically felicitated.

Departments distributed various benefits including pump sets, agricultural seeds, cattle schemes, loans to livelihood groups, community forest leases, tractors, old-age pension benefits, tablets for academic excellence and smart watches for sports achievements. Awards were given to meritorious students, and beneficiaries under irrigation and livelihood schemes were also supported.


Floral tribute to Birsa Munda

At the beginning of the programme, the Minister paid floral tribute to the portrait of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and extended greetings to the people of the state on his 150th birth anniversary.


Inspection of departmental stalls

The Minister visited stalls set up by various departments showcasing developmental activities and appreciated their efforts.


Immense scope in agriculture and allied sectors: Dr. Tarachand

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Tarachand said that over the past 25 years, significant progress has been made in environmental protection, arts, culture and preservation of traditions. He highlighted that 80 percent of the state’s population is dependent on agriculture, and Jharkhand has huge potential to become a leading state in this sector.

He emphasised the rich natural herbs available in the 30 percent forest-covered region and the potential for developing herbal medicines. The district also has vast opportunities in tourism, similar to other states. He added that Jharkhand is the only state where KCC loans have zero percent interest if repaid on time. He said there are great possibilities in education, human resources, healthcare and industry.

At the end of the programme, the District Administration presented a memento to the Minister.

Among those present were Superintendent of Police Sadiq Anwar Rizvi, Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat, Additional Collector Jitendra Munda, ITDA Project Director Sushma Neelam Soreng, Sub-Divisional Officer Amit Kumar, SDPO Shraddha Kerketta, district-level officers, Zila Parishad Vice-Chairperson Vinod Oraon, Zila Parishad members, Jharkhand movement activists and a large number of students.
