Minister Yogendra Prasad Inaugurates Vishwanath Mahato Football Tournament

The Swargiya Vishwanath Mahato Football Tournament 2025 began on Saturday at the Plus-2 High School ground in Petarwar. Jharkhand Government Minister Yogendra Prasad and former MLA Babita Devi jointly inaugurated the tournament.
Minister Pays Tribute to His Father, Encourages Rural Sports
During the inaugural ceremony, Minister Yogendra Prasad offered floral tribute to the portrait of his late father, Vishwanath Mahato, and recalled his contributions. He said that Vishwanath Mahato has always been a source of inspiration in social life and consistently encouraged the promotion of rural sports.
The Minister interacted with the participating players and wished them success. He said that such tournaments help instil sportsmanship among youth and provide a platform for rural talent to move forward.
Large Gathering of Local Leaders and Spectators
Former MLA Babita Devi, Kasmar Pramukh Neyoti Kumari, several party workers and spectators from nearby villages were present during the event.
Both players and spectators showcased high enthusiasm, making the atmosphere at the ground lively and spirited.
