Jharkhand Foundation Day: Minister Sudivya Kumar Flags Off Cycle Rally

As part of the celebrations marking 25 years of Jharkhand’s foundation, the state government on Thursday flagged off a special “Know Your Tourist Place” cycle rally in Ranchi. State Sports Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu flagged off the rally from Bapu Vatika, Morabadi as the chief guest.


Youth Participate with Great Enthusiasm

The rally witnessed energetic participation from youths across the city. What makes this rally special is that it will travel all the way to Ulihatu in Khunti, the birthplace of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
The rally symbolizes Jharkhand’s journey of struggle, identity, and development.


A Message of Progress & Prosperity

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu said:

“Our forefathers made supreme sacrifices for a separate state. It is because of their struggle that today we see Jharkhand as a young and progressive state.”

He added that the cycle rally aims to spread the message of development and prosperity to every household in the state. The government’s vision is to build a prosperous, strong, and developed Jharkhand.


Rally Route & Schedule

The rally’s journey has been planned in three stages:

📍 Day 1 — November 13

  • Start: Bapu Vatika, Morabadi, Ranchi
  • Route: Morabadi → Latratu Dam (Resort)
  • End: Latratu (halt)

📍 Day 2 — November 14

  • Sightseeing of major tourist spots in Ranchi
  • Travel towards Khunti
  • Night halt in Khunti

📍 Day 3 — November 15

  • Khunti → Ulihatu (Birthplace of Birsa Munda)
  • Floral tributes at the memorial
  • Rally concludes at Ulihatu

Promoting Hidden Tourist Destinations

The primary objective of the cycle rally is to introduce Jharkhand’s unexplored tourist destinations to the wider public and provide new direction to the state’s tourism sector. Officials hope that the initiative will boost tourism and create awareness about Jharkhand’s cultural and historical richness.
