Voting for the Ghatshila by-election will be held on November 11th and counting will be held on November 14th: K. Ravi Kumar

 

Jharkhand/Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar stated that the Election Commission of India has implemented the Model Code of Conduct for the by-election in the 45-Ghatshila (ST) Assembly constituency. He stated that the Commission has announced the dates for voting on November 11th and counting on November 14th. Following this announcement, the Model Code of Conduct will be in effect only in the Ghatshila constituency. Kumar made this announcement during a press conference at the Nirvachan Sadan on Monday, following the announcement regarding the Ghatshila Assembly constituency election.

The Chief Electoral Officer stated that the total number of voters in the Ghatshila Assembly constituency is 255,823, of which 124,899 are male and 130,921 are female. He stated that webcasting will be done through CCTV at all polling stations during the by-election. Additionally, checkpoints will be set up within the Assembly constituency and on its borders, which will be monitored via CCTV and webcasting.

K. Ravi Kumar informed that polling stations with more than 1,200 voters have been rationalized in the Ghatsila Assembly constituency. As a result, the total number of polling stations in the Assembly constituency has increased to 300 at 218 polling station locations.

Joint Chief Electoral Officer Subodh Kumar and officials from the Chief Electoral Officer's office were present on this occasion.
