Jharkhand/Ranchi: On the instructions of the JHALSA under the guidance of the Justice Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, and under the direction of the DLSA Secretary, the DLSA team organized a legal awareness program on the schemes run by Honorable NALSA, namely, Don, Asha, Jagriti, Samvad, and Saathi, at the Gagari Panchayat Bhawan in Ormanjhi block. Assistant LADC Shivani Singh, PLV Shila Tigga, Kiran Kumari, Ashish Baitha, Santosh Kumar, Deepak Ganjhu, Jagmohan Munda, and Raja Verma from the Panchayat Bhawan were present.
Assistant LADC Shivani Singh focused on drug abuse and drug misuse, and the dangers they pose. Focusing on the Saathi scheme, she stated that the goal is to bring destitute children into the mainstream by establishing their Aadhaar identification. Under the Asha Abhiyan, villagers were informed about the services provided by the District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi. While focusing on the rights afforded to tribals under the Samvad Yojana, she also provided information about the Jagriti Yojana. Focusing on the NALSA Yojana, she stated that drug abuse causes financial and health losses. Addiction ruins families. PLV Kiran Kumari urged parents to keep their children away from drug abuse. Drug abuse has a direct impact on the brain, leading children and youth to become more criminal. Ms. Singh also focused on the NDPS Act.
PLV Shila Tigga said that DALSA, Ranchi, periodically organizes awareness programs on drug eradication and street corner events. Our goal is to wean youth and children away from drug abuse and build a drug-free society.
PLV Ashish Baitha and Santosh Kumar focused on the holistic development of street children and protecting them from the dangers of drug abuse. He said that if any children are seen consuming drugs on the roadside, then identify them and inform us, DALSA will make every effort to bring the drug addicted children into the mainstream.
Finally, all the PLVs gave information about the National Lok Adalat to be held on 13th December and distributed pamphlets and leaflets.
