Criminals Open Fire at Railway Coal Siding, Injuring One Laborer

 

Jharkhand/Latehar: Unknown criminals opened fire at the Tori Siding near the Tori Railway Station under the Chandwa police station area of ​​the district late Sunday night. A laborer, Gopal Prasad, was shot in the incident. The injured laborer, a resident of Chandwa, was treated at the Latehar Sadar Hospital and referred to RIMS for further treatment. It is suspected that the criminals carried out this incident to create panic and extort money.

According to information, some criminals on motorcycles approached the siding around 12:00 a.m. Sunday night and opened fire, targeting the laborers working there. The criminals fired approximately four rounds. One laborer, Gopal Prasad, was injured. The criminals fled the scene after firing. Police were informed of the incident, and the injured laborer was taken to the hospital. Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately arrived at the scene. After investigating the matter, the police conducted raids to arrest the criminals. After receiving first aid, the injured laborer was referred to RIMS for better treatment. He reportedly suffered a bullet injury to his leg.

Latehar DSP Arvind Kumar stated that after receiving information about the incident, police teams are conducting raids at all possible locations to apprehend the perpetrators. He assured them that they will be arrested soon.
