Following the Commission's decision, the company also handed over a cheque for the settlement amount to the plaintiff.
Commission Chairman Vidhanchandra Choudhary, members Shyam Kumar Mahato, and Arpana Mishra were present. Satendra Kumar Singh's truck was stolen near his home on November 3, 2008. At the time of the incident, the driver was sleeping in the truck when armed criminals arrived, threatened him, and took the truck's keys, before fleeing. Satendra Kumar was forced off the truck. Satendra Kumar filed a police complaint, but the truck remained untraceable. He subsequently filed a claim for 4 lakh rupees with Oriental Insurance Company, but the company rejected it. Tired of running around the insurance company for many years, Satendra Kumar Singh approached the Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. After a thorough hearing, the Commission found his case to be strong and ordered the company to pay the amount.
Advocate Rohit Kumar represented Satendra Kumar Singh in this case.
