Jharkhand/Giridih: Giridih police achieved a major success against the CPI-Maoist. On Thursday, police reported recovering a cache of weapons hidden in the foothills of Parasnath in the Nimiyaghat police station area, which were intended to harm security forces. The recovered weapons included live cartridges, detonators, magazine pouches, and a large quantity of explosive material, including steel containers. It was reported that the police achieved this success based on a tip-off.
It was reported that the Superintendent of Police, Giridih, and SD Tripathi, Commandant of the CRPF-154 Battalion, received intelligence about Naxalite activity in the vicinity of Jokai Nala, located in the Khukra police station area, and Chiruabeda, located in the foothills of the Parasnath hill range.
Upon verification of the information, a joint team was formed under the leadership of Superintendent of Police (Operations) Surjeet Kumar and Deputy Commandant, CRPF, Amit Kumar Jha, Cobra-203 Battalion. The team acted swiftly and raided Chiruabeda and Jokai Nala. However, no Naxalites were found. During the search, the accompanying BDDS team recovered the firearms hidden in the area.
