Police van attacked in Pakistan's Balochistan, six injured, Baloch Republican Guards took responsibility

Quetta (Balochistan) Pakistan: At least six people were injured in a grenade attack on a police van in Usta Mohammad district of the troubled province of Balochistan in Pakistan on Monday. Unknown attackers on motorcycles threw a grenade at a police vehicle near the railway gate in the City Police Station area. Four policemen and two passersby were injured in the blast.The Balochistan Post quoted the police as saying that the injured in the attack have been identified as Abdul Nabi, Qadir Bakhsh, Abdullah, Bahram and two others. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police said the vehicle was damaged in the blast. After the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and searched for the attackers.

   Meanwhile, the armed group Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) has claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement issued to the media. The group said its fighters targeted the police vehicle. If the police continue to harass locals, such attacks will continue in the future too.
