Moscow: Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, who arrived on a three-day official visit to Russia, will meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow today. During this, the possibilities of mutual cooperation between the two countries will be discussed. The meeting of the Indian Foreign Minister with his Russian counterpart is considered important in view of the US tariff on India regarding Russian oil purchases, the Ukraine conflict and the changing global equation.
Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar has arrived in Russia on a three-day official visit on August 19. A day earlier on Wednesday, he co-chaired the 26th session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission (IRIGC-TEC), in which there was a discussion on increasing trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation. He also addressed the India-Russia Business Forum along with Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov.
It is noteworthy that this visit of External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar is taking place after the recent visit of NSA Ajit Doval to Russia. Doval met President Putin during his visit to Russia.
