Ranchi: A major theft incident has come to light in CMPD Colony located in Gonda police station area of the capital Ranchi. Thieves targeted a closed house and stole jewelry worth about 30 lakh rupees and cash worth 75 thousand rupees. Investigation has been started as soon as the police received the complaint of this incident.
According to the information received, Rani Kumari, who works in the HRD department of CMPD, had gone to attend a wedding ceremony in Giridih with her family. During that time, a theft took place in her house. Rani Kumari got the news of the theft when the domestic help called and told that the doors of the house were open and something seemed wrong inside.
Rani Kumari told the police that many expensive jewelery including four mangalsutras (one of diamond), gold chain, rings, bracelets, maang tika, nath, diamond nosepin and locket are missing from the house. Apart from this, 75 thousand rupees of cash kept in the house has also been stolen. One surprising thing about this theft is that the thieves not only stole the jewellery and cash but also the locks inside and outside the house. The police is investigating whether the locks were broken or opened with keys.
