Investigation campaign against tax defaulters and overloaded vehicles intensified

 

Ranchi: As per the direction of Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate, Ranchi Manjunath Bhajantri, District Transport Officer, Ranchi Akhilesh Kumar conducted a vehicle checking campaign in Kachhari Chowk, Morhabadi and Mesra areas. During the investigation campaign, tax defaulters, overloaded, without permit and pollution certificate, without license, carrying more passengers than capacity in passenger vehicles and other vehicle related documents were checked by the District Transport Officer.

189 vehicles checked, fine of Rs 603002 collected from 26 vehicles

A total of 189 vehicles were checked during the vehicle checking campaign. In the checking of documents of all the vehicles one by one, the documents of 26 vehicles were found to be incorrect. A fine of Rs 603002 was imposed on them.

05 vehicles were seized

A total of 05 vehicles were seized during the vehicle checking campaign. The four seized vehicles have been kept for security at Mesra and one vehicle at Morabadi TOP.
