New Delhi, September 13: The three-day Dryland Congress 2026 concluded in New Delhi with a strong call to accelerate solutions for dryland agriculture and strengthen South-South and Triangular Cooperation.
The “Delhi Declaration on Drylands (3D)” was adopted, outlining a common agenda for cooperation, knowledge sharing, innovation and collective action across the Global South.
ICAR Director General Dr. M.L. Jat stressed the need for stronger institutions, data systems and living laboratories, while ICRISAT Director General Dr. Himanshu Pathak called for converting the conference discussions into concrete action.
Several new MoUs and partnerships were announced with organisations including Global Crop Diversity Trust, Wipro and NIFTEM. The ISSCA Global Awards 2026 also recognised agricultural innovations from across the Global South.
