CM Hemant Soren Attends Krishna Janmashtami Celebration and Dahi Handi Competition in Ranchi

Ranchi, September 4, 2026: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren attended the Shri Krishna Janmotsav and Dahi Handi Competition organized by the Shri Krishna Janmotsav Organising Committee at Morabadi Ground in Ranchi on the occasion of Janmashtami.


Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Soren extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Jharkhand on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. He wished for the happiness, prosperity, progress and well-being of everyone in the state.


The Chief Minister said that people had gathered to celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna and expressed happiness over the enthusiastic participation of devotees and contestants. He said he had regularly remained associated with such celebrations and congratulated all the devotees and participants present at the event.


Soren highlighted the teachings and life of Lord Krishna, saying they inspire humanity to follow the path of truth, righteousness, love, compassion and duty. He said Janmashtami reminds people to adopt the ideals of Lord Krishna in their lives and strengthen the spirit of love, brotherhood, harmony and mutual cooperation in society.


The Chief Minister also prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness in Jharkhand and expressed hope that the state would continue to move forward on the path of development and progress.


During the programme, Chief Minister Soren honoured participants of the Krishna Janmotsav celebrations and formally inaugurated the Dahi Handi competition.


Jharkhand Congress President Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, Minister Deepika Pandey Singh, MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha, former Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur, Shri Krishna Janmotsav Organising Committee patron Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, along with other dignitaries, were present on the occasion.
