Independence Day Celebrations Held in Lohardaga, Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey Hoists Tricolour
Lohardaga, August 15, 2026: The district-level Independence Day celebration was held at BS College Stadium in Lohardaga. Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey hoisted the national flag and paid tribute to the freedom fighters.
The Minister said that freedom is not only a right but also a responsibility. She called upon citizens to uphold democratic values, justice and equality while carrying forward the legacy of the tribal community’s struggle for Jal, Jungle and Zameen.
During the ceremony, 17 employees for their outstanding work were honoured with certificates, shawls and mementos. Outstanding sportspersons, school students and parade teams were also felicitated.
In the Best Parade Competition, the District Armed Police Force secured first place, the Naval Wing of Nadia Chief Minister’s Excellence School stood second, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya NCC Girls secured third place.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kumar Meena, Superintendent of Police Sadiq Anwar Rizvi, senior district officials and a large number of citizens attended the festival.
