CMPDI Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Focus on Innovation and Sustainability
Ranchi, August 16, 2026: Central Mine Planning & Design Institute (CMPDI) celebrated the 80th Independence Day at its Ranchi headquarters. CMD Chaudhary Shivraj Singh hoisted the National Flag and highlighted CMPDI’s achievements in exploration, innovation, sustainable mining and nation-building.
CMPDI recorded 11.50 lakh metres of drilling, prepared 31 geological reports and assessed around 18.5 billion tonnes of coal resources. The institute also expanded work in critical minerals, renewable energy, UCG, CBM and advanced mining technologies.
In FY 2025-26, CMPDI achieved its highest-ever turnover of ₹2,316.53 crore and a PAT of ₹613.18 crore. Singh emphasized automation, AI, modernisation, diversification, transparency and financial discipline to make CMPDI a technologically advanced and future-ready organisation.
