Ranchi Municipal Corporation Collects Over ₹48 Crore in First Quarter; Online Payment Participation Also Rises
Ranchi: The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) collected ₹48.02 crore (₹480,239,390.58) from taxes and various other sources during the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27. According to the report, tax was collected from 88,675 residential taxpayers during this period.
The report indicates that ₹17.35 crore was collected via online channels, with 27,267 transactions recorded. Meanwhile, ₹5.44 crore was collected through Public Facilitation Centres (JSK), involving 11,525 payments.
Revenue generated included ₹1.29 crore from water charges (11,625 payments), ₹45.64 lakh from trade fees (3,242 payments), ₹1.09 crore from 1,637 new Self-Assessment Forms (SAF), and ₹1.68 crore from 2,596 re-assessments.
Additionally, over ₹2.10 crore was collected from just 59 cases under the GBSAF category, highlighting a high collection amount per case.
This first-quarter report from the Ranchi Municipal Corporation demonstrates that citizens have rapidly adopted the online payment system alongside property tax payments, leading to a significant increase in the corporation's revenue.
