Sanitation Turned into a Mass Movement: CCL’s ‘Swachhata Pakhwada-2026’ Concludes Grandly
Ranchi: The ‘Swachhata Pakhwada-2026’ (Cleanliness Fortnight), held at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) from June 16 to 30, concluded enthusiastically on Tuesday. Various creative programs were organized during the campaign to promote cleanliness, environmental conservation, and public awareness. At the closing ceremony, the message of cleanliness was conveyed through a street play titled ‘Mr. Laparwah’ (Mr. Careless), while sanitation workers were honored and presented with cleanliness kits.
CCL Director (Personnel) Harsh Nath Mishra and Director (Technical/Operations) Chandra Shekhar Tiwari were the key dignitaries present at the event. General Managers, Heads of Departments, officers, and a large number of employees also attended the occasion.
Director (Personnel) Harsh Nath Mishra stated that cleanliness is not merely a government campaign but the responsibility of every citizen. Meanwhile, Director (Technical/Operations) Chandra Shekhar Tiwari remarked that a clean workplace forms a strong foundation for a better work culture, safety, and productivity.
The highlight of the closing ceremony was the street play ‘Mr. Laparwah,’ which conveyed the message of avoiding littering in public places and embracing cleanliness.
During the event, CCL’s sanitation workers and cleaning staff were honored for their contributions and provided with cleanliness kits containing canvas bags, T-shirts, gloves, masks, sanitizers, tiffin boxes, and towels.
Throughout the fortnight, various activities were conducted, including a special cleanliness drive at the Pahari Mandir complex in Ranchi, tree plantation, cleanliness rallies, wall painting, essay competitions, and the ‘Swachhata on Canvas-2026’ painting competition. Additionally, a ‘Wealth from Waste’ message was conveyed in the Argada Area by creating a ‘Make in India’ statue out of scrap material.
On the occasion of the conclusion, the CCL family reiterated its pledge to make cleanliness a part of their lifestyle and to continue contributing to the creation of a clean, healthy, and developed India.
