🚦 Grand Walkathon in Ranchi Promotes Road Safety and Civic Sense; Outstanding Traffic Police Personnel and Talented Students Honoured
Ranchi: A grand road safety walkathon was organized in Ranchi on Friday with the aim of reducing road accidents, raising awareness about traffic rules, and fostering a sense of civic responsibility among citizens. Held under the leadership of Rajiv Ranjan, Secretary of the Jharkhand Transport Department, the walkathon proceeded from Bapu Vatika at Morhabadi Ground to Albert Ekka Chowk.
Students from various schools and colleges, sportspersons, representatives of voluntary organizations, and a large number of citizens participated enthusiastically in this awareness campaign. Carrying placards and banners bearing road safety messages, the participants raised public awareness regarding safe traffic practices.
Addressing the gathering, Transport Secretary Rajiv Ranjan stated that road safety is not solely the responsibility of the government or the police but a duty incumbent upon every citizen. He urged everyone to regularly use helmets and seat belts, adhere to traffic signals, drive within prescribed speed limits, and demonstrate responsible civic behavior in public spaces. He also administered a road safety pledge to all the participants.

Traffic Police Personnel Honored for Outstanding Service
During the event, 10 traffic police officers and personnel were honored with certificates of appreciation and helmets for their remarkable contribution toward making Ranchi city's traffic system safe, smooth, and effective.
The honored police personnel included Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Pintu Kumar Rai (Kantatoli Chowk), Rana Pratap Singh (Lalpur Chowk), Sahdev Rajak (Firayalal Chowk), Vipin Kumar Jha (Zakir Hussain Park), Havildar Md. Babar Hussain (Munda Chowk), Constable Ajit Kujur (Radium Chowk), Constable Bhuvneshwar Oraon (Lalpur Chowk), Constable Jitendra Kumar (Lalpur Traffic Police Station), Home Guard Sonu Kumar (Gonda Traffic Police Station), and Home Guard Anu Murmu (Sujata Chowk).
