National Pulse Polio Campaign Begins Today in Ranchi; Over 5 Lakh Children to Receive Polio Drops

Ranchi: The National Pulse Polio Campaign is launching in the district on June 28. Under this three-day campaign, a target has been set to administer the life-saving polio dose to 505,524 children aged 0 to 5 years. The campaign will continue until June 30.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Civil Surgeon's office on Saturday, Civil Surgeon Dr. Prabhat Kumar stated that 3,893 polio booths have been set up across the district to ensure the campaign's success. A total of 7,786 health workers have been deployed to operate these booths, and 571 supervisors have been assigned to oversee the process.

He appealed to parents to take all children under the age of five to the nearest polio booth and ensure they receive the polio drops. He emphasized that "Every child, every time" is the guiding principle for the campaign's success and that no child should be deprived of this life-saving medicine.

Following the press conference, the Civil Surgeon flagged off the Pulse Polio awareness chariot. This publicity vehicle will travel to various parts of the city to raise awareness about the campaign and encourage the administration of polio doses to the maximum number of children.

Several officials and staff members from the Health Department, including DRCHO Dr. Asim Kumar Manjhi, District Program Coordinator Preeti Chaudhary, and Regional Coordinator Shweta Verma, were present on the occasion.
