DLSA Active on Labour Day in Ranchi; Distributes Relief Materials and Raises Awareness Among Workers
Ranchi, May 1, 2026:
The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ranchi, conducted a relief and awareness campaign across the city on the occasion of Labour Day. In view of the scorching heat, water bottles and ORS packets were distributed among laborers at a camp set up at Sujata Chowk.
Organized through a joint effort by DLSA Ranchi and the Shopkeepers' Cooperation Committee, the event was attended by several staff members and Para-Legal Volunteer (PLV) members, including Deputy LADC Rajesh Kumar Sinha.
Additionally, a legal awareness program was organized for laborers and porters at the Ranchi Railway Station. During this session, workers were provided with information regarding various government schemes, their fundamental rights, and available legal aid services.
Addressing the gathering, Rajesh Kumar Sinha emphasized that registration on the 'e-Shram' portal is essential for workers in the unorganized sector to enable them to avail the benefits of various government welfare schemes. Meanwhile, LADC Assistant Virendra Pratap provided the workers with crucial information regarding labor laws, minimum wages, and legal assistance.
DLSA stated that efforts are being made to provide prompt assistance to workers through various schemes designed for their welfare, thereby ensuring that they become aware of their rights and are able to effectively access the intended benefits.
