Congress Outraged Over a ₹3 Hike; Why Doesn't It Reduce the 22% VAT in Jharkhand – Aditya Sahu
Ranchi: BJP State President Aditya Sahu has termed the Congress party's act of burning an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the issue of inflation as a "political gimmick." He asserted that the Congress has no moral right to speak on the subject of rising prices.
Aditya Sahu stated that the entire world is grappling with inflation due to a global crisis; however, in India—under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi—inflation has been kept under significant control. He noted that price hikes have occurred in 115 countries, yet the Congress is creating an uproar in India over a mere increase of three rupees in the prices of petrol and diesel.
Taking aim at the Congress, he remarked that despite facing continuous rejection from the public, the party refuses to desist from its despicable brand of politics and continues in its attempts to mislead the people. He added that observing such antics by the Congress evokes pity for their intellect, and he prayed that God grants them good sense.
The BJP State President pointed out that the Central Government has, on several occasions in the past, reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel. He questioned that if the Congress truly advocates for the public interest, why does the Jharkhand government not reduce the 22 percent VAT and the one-rupee cess currently levied on petrol and diesel?
