Auto Drivers Distressed by Rising Diesel and Petrol Prices; Warn of Intense Agitation

Ranchi: Dinesh Soni, State President of the Jharkhand State CNG Auto Drivers' Federation; Arjun Yadav, President of the Ranchi District Auto Drivers' Union; and Lalu Singh, President of the Bariatu Route Association, have issued a joint press statement expressing deep concern over the Central Government's policies and the escalating prices of diesel and petrol.

The leaders stated that, due to new regulations implemented by the Central Government and the continuously rising fuel prices, poor auto drivers and vehicle owners across the entire state are facing a severe economic crisis. They alleged that the situation has become so dire that auto drivers are finding it increasingly difficult to support their families, fund their children's education, cover medical expenses for the elderly, and meet their daily necessities.

Federation office-bearers announced that, in order to address these issues, a crucial meeting involving the Jharkhand State CNG Auto Drivers' Federation, the Ranchi District Auto Drivers' Union, and representatives from various routes will be held on May 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM at their office located at Duke Mansion, Line Tank Road.

During the meeting, the grievances of auto drivers, vehicle owners, and e-rickshaw drivers will be discussed in detail. Furthermore, a declaration regarding an intense agitation may be issued if the government fails to pay heed to their demands.
